Michigan Fishing licenses are available in three (3) types:

  • An annual fishing license is valid for all fishing

  • A three (3) day license is valid for 3 consecutive days from the starting date and time you select.

  • A one (1) day fishing license is valid for a 24 hour period from the date and time you select.

Al fishing license are valid for all species. That said, you must also request a free musky tag if you intend to harvest a musky or a free sturgeon permit and tag if you intend to harvest a sturgeon during their open season.

Fishing licenses continue to be very reasonably priced in Michigan. The cost of your license depends on your classification, ie: resident or non-resident, senior, military, etc. The MDNR website will show you all your options.
